			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>It was early in 2008 that I consciously applied the Law of Attraction. I visualized myself as being financially independent and resonating Success but at that time, I was pretty broke.</p>
<p>I was a person who gave good value and had my small financial successes along the way. However, I was in a pattern of manifesting people who are &quot;wolves in sheep&#8217;s clothing&quot; and got exploited of my talents and not receive the deserving financial rewards that I was meant to get.</p>
<p>In my most recent business joint venture, which lasted till July this year. I manifested a really oppressive business partner who was a preacher of good and generosity but in reality an oppressive bully who takes advantage of people and exploit them. He&#8217;s a subjective person whose word has little value because agreements can always be rescinded, using the standard BJE&#8230; that means Blame, Justify, Excuse. But when a person starts to be bad with money payments, I guess that is really the end of a partnership, in spite of tolerance level. May he come to his personal awareness shifts soon, so that his full blessings can be manifested.</p>
<p>Needless to say, I was caught in a destructive pattern. However, when I took responsibility that I allowed him to be this way, I realised that I manifested this person into my life to teach me valuable lessons at that life stage. When I allowed the lessons to resonate in me, the lesson being, &quot;Choice is always in our hands&quot;, I realised I could choose my pattern of destruction or I could choose for the pattern to stop. I decided that it had to stop and I learned from it.</p>
<p>Funny thing though, thinking back of how I practiced the Law of Attraction, I remembered that one of the principles of the Law of Attraction states that &quot;when you start to visualize and become who you are suppose to become&quot;, you start to shed away all those things in your life that does not suit or identify with the new you, because differing energies cannot occupy the same space. It was clear to me that I&#8217;m evolving, therefore I no longer resonate to that energy that brought me together with that partner. Another funny thing too is that this business partner of mine, taught me a lot of the necessary skills that made me who I am today and I&#8217;m thankful for the knowledge. I accept what happened and I accept that this event simply IS.</p>
<p>Many times in my life, I hear doctrines that says we are suppose to embrace all the &quot;good&quot; and reject or shun the &quot;bad&quot;. However, from this experience, I further appreciate the duality of the universe that we live with, that one needs to be able to recognise one side of the duality in order to appreciate the other side of the duality, such as &quot;Poverty&quot; and &quot;Prosperity&quot;.</p>
<p>So, to conclude this post, I would like to make a point that the Law of Attraction sometimes gives you setbacks, trials and tribulations. However, when you hold dear to your faith in the Laws of the Universe, the Universe is friendly and ultimately gives you exactly what you want.</p>
<p>I&#8217;m thankful for the life I&#8217;m living now and the Successes that I&#8217;m currently experiencing as well as those that are brewing.</p>
<p>P.S. Just curious though, I know that another school of thought says that &quot;one could express that angry side and get &#8216;even&#8217;. Therefore making yourself whole and recognising that side of you that is the opposite of &#8216;nice&#8217;, experiencing your own duality and becoming whole&quot;. Can I have your thoughts about that please? What do you think? In the quest for wholeness, should one experience wholeness through recognising personal dualities or experience wholeness through embracing harmony, peace and forgiveness? Or should it be both? Or does the circumstance depict your approach.

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>This is and interesting question that I&#8217;ve been posing to myself a lot lately.</p>
<p>Being in the seminars and training business, I get to meet a lot of speakers and trainers from all around the world and I get to meet major seminar organisers whom share stories of what really happens &quot;inside&quot; the world of self-help seminars.</p>
<p>Well, the truth is&#8230; the seminars industry is the same as most other industries, we&#8217;ve got the good, bad and the ugly. I&#8217;ve got the privilege of meeting great speakers and I&#8217;ve also had the opportunity to meet some really crappy ones.</p>
<p>But here&#8217;s the reflection / lesson that I wanna share here. Many times, I observe the people in this industry saying: &quot;You gotta fake it till you make it&quot; or &quot;Personal branding and Positioning increases your stick-ability factor&quot;. I must say that such statements are all true and I&#8217;ve seen people who use such mindsets and build themselves into successful individuals.</p>
<p>I also observe that certain speakers become &quot;gurus&quot; not really because they &quot;made it big&quot; using the techniques they preach but rather they became &quot;gurus&quot; because they created a system of teaching and then branded themselves as an expert in that field. Here&#8217;s the thing though&#8230; All of these speakers resonate an aura of confidence that attracts people to them. In other words, they have been granted with a lot of &quot;Power of Influence&quot;.</p>
<p>Spider-man&#8217;s uncle Ben mentioned that &quot;With Great Power comes Great Responsibility&quot;&#8230; so my question here is: &quot;Do all these speakers know the responsibility that comes with this Power?&quot; Cos many of the people who buy in to what these speakers sell, devote a lot of hard earned money, time and heart into the &quot;possible&quot; dream.</p>
<p>What I&#8217;m alluding to here is a type of individual who resonates confidence and persuasion power, an individual who has the ability to make you salivate over his product or service and then influence you to part with your hard earned money or even cause you to take that risk on your credit card.</p>
<p>So how to you differentiate between the authentic teacher / speaker and the one that is not?</p>
<p>You can see their intentions. The authentic one has got follow up programmes and local support, plus a team of support staff, who will be willing to hand-hold you through the learning process. (Tip: Observe the team&#8230; They are usually happy and relaxed, congruent and harmonious when interacting with the speaker.)</p>
<p>Of course, the price is also reasonable. What is reasonable? You decide cos every product / service if different. The truth here is &quot;They are interested in You!&quot; and they genuinely want you to be successful using their teachings because they became successful walking their talk.</p>
<p>As for the unauthentic ones, usually they just want your money. They&#8217;ll try to sell you their courses and &quot;get rich quick&quot; schemes and here&#8217;s the thing. Follow up usually sucks with these kinds of speakers and delivery is lousy.</p>
<p>How to test them? Sometimes it is tough because they&#8217;ve got such good &quot;packaging&quot;. However, you can recognise this individual by his &quot;caught up with making Big money fast!&quot; mindset, rather than providing value and maintaining a long term relationship.</p>
<p>My conclusion here is simple. Buyers Beware! There&#8217;s a Chinese proverb that says: &quot;Waves do not happen without Wind&quot;. So if you do find some bad press about a speaker, investigate further before signing up for his programme. You are able to sniff out his sincerity. Truly authentic and sincere speakers have your welfare at heart and seeks a win-win between teacher and student and they are nurturing in nature.</p>
<p>I guess&#8230; to answer the original question, when you see confidence become cocky-ness in a speaker / teacher, it is not about you anymore. It is about him and that is an indication that he&#8217;s just not that into you.</p>
<p>There are always 3 choices when faced with a tough decision though:</p>
<p>Accept It. If you can&#8217;t accept it&#8230;</p>
<p>Change It. If you can&#8217;t change it&#8230;</p>
<p>Leave it.

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I&#8217;ve been thinking of this topic a lot lately and I thought I&#8217;d pen down something about it.</p>
<p>Many times in my business life, I see people who are out to make a BIG windfall. They go to wealth creation seminars, try the next &quot;get rich quick&quot; scheme, test various investment vehicles and most of the time, the end up finding themselves at the same place that they originally started. Sometimes being even more broke and desperate.</p>
<p>I&#8217;m also writing this because I see many close friends doing the same thing. Sincere, honest people seeking to make an honest earning but most of the time, the mindset of making Big money causes them to forget something simple and essential&#8230; Cashflow!</p>
<p>Sincerely, I care for these people and I hope that they can see that making consistent increments of cashflow<br />
accumulates to a substantial amount of money. And what comes with that are emotions such as security, peace of mind and harmony.</p>
<p>It is really a simple question:</p>
<p>&quot;If you can choose between making $100,000 and $10,000&#8230; which would you choose?&quot;</p>
<p>Most people when asked this question will not hesitate to answer $100,000. However, If I change the question to:</p>
<p>&quot;If you can choose between making $100,000 a year vs $10,000 a week&#8230; which would you choose?&quot;</p>
<p>The answer is really simple. $10,000 a week is faster than $100,000 a year.</p>
<p>So&#8230; the mindset that I&#8217;d like to address here is&#8230; seek transactions that allows you to make fast (but most of the time smaller) amounts of money, rather than go through a period of &quot;no cashflow&quot; just to have the bigger amount of money.</p>
<p>In the long run, this is more sustainable.

<p>I must really apologise for the long absence here on this site. I&#8217;ve not been writing for months and frankly, I kind of miss writing those deep deep stuff that I usually write about.</p>
<p>Therefore, it is a resolution of mine that I start writing again&#8230; and regularly.</p>
<p>If you do have a topic that you&#8217;d like me to write about, or better yet, give you a video response, please let me know and I&#8217;ll answer your questions to the best of my knowledge and intuition.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>In the midst of being busy with work and getting caught up with the &#8220;busyness&#8221;&#8230; Sometimes it is easy to get lost in work and miss looking at our &#8220;North Star&#8221; aka our Passion or our Purpose.</p>
<p>The effects of such a state of mind could lead to too much mind chatter and clutter, clouding clarity and vision. I must confess when I get really busy with the momentum of work, I get &#8220;Lost&#8221; in my work. When this happened to me today, I started to remember about Living in the NOW and eternal Present or Pre-sent moment. I started to be conscious of my own body and started to breathe deeply and take a good 30 sec breathing break, recognising the peace and tranquility in the moment.</p>
<p>Of course, the mind still plays tricks as it is simply a &#8220;Thought Producing Machine&#8221; but then I remember a statement I read in the book &#8216;The Last Hours Of Ancient Sunlight&#8217;. The statement said &#8220;the eternal present happens when a thought ends and another begins&#8221; and I started to focus on feeling and living in the present. I started to count my breaths&#8230;. 1&#8230; 2&#8230; 3&#8230; 4&#8230;&#8230; 1&#8230; 2&#8230; 3&#8230; 4&#8230;&#8230; 1&#8230; 2&#8230; (By the way, for beginner of meditation, it is good to just focus on 4 breaths counts in a row cos it keeps you in the present) and after a short while, I started to appreciate every moment of my living&#8230; my being (Being who I&#8217;m Being at the moment) and progressively, all became calm.</p>
<p>In the moment of calmness and presence, clarity came and I started to live my Passioned Purpose. That is to Live as a Spiritual Being, to Live as a Spiritual Journeyman, to Evolve as a Spiritual Consciousness.</p>
<p>Try it sometimes, you&#8217;ll start to appreciate Life and the Peace that comes with the Present.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Some time back, I talked how the subconscious mind is most connected to the super-conscious mind while we sleep. I also talked about what we programme our minds with, right before we sleep and just before we wake up, has got a profound effect on the things that we manifest into reality. I did however open up a can of worms with the statement: &#8220;Remember, the Universe gives you what you ask for, all the time, springing forth our deepest expression of our ’self’.&#8221;</p>
<p>So what is this deepest expression of our &#8217;self&#8221; all about? When I read Conversations with God, it talked about this &#8220;thing&#8221; called The Sponsoring Thought. The Sponsoring Thought is the thought or believe behind a thought and when it comes to manifesting our desires, it is this Sponsoring Thought that the Universe fulfills, Because this is the highest expression of our true &#8217;self&#8217;.</p>
<p>Let me explain this through a very candid example. Check out this Johnny Bravo clip first and I&#8217;ll explain further.</p>

<p>Hahaha!!! That was funny. Ok&#8230; Here&#8217;s the serious part. Notice that although Johnny&#8217;s words (thoughts) were &#8220;I&#8217;m Pretty!&#8221;&#8230;. &#8220;I&#8217;m Prettier&#8221; etc&#8230; What his Sponsoring Thought was &#8220;Competition&#8221; and therefore, the Law of Attraction here (represented by the echo) sends him exactly what his sponsoring thought asked for, &#8220;Competition&#8221;, and all other effects or results that happen throught the Law of Cause and Effect.</p>
<p>The Manifesting Process , according to T. Harv Eker is as follows:</p>
<p>Thoughts &#8211;&gt; Feelings &#8211;&gt; Actions = Results</p>
<p>I&#8217;d like to add something to that equation, using this principle of The Sponsoring Thought. That is:</p>
<p>Belief &#8211;&gt; Thoughts &#8211;&gt; Feelings &#8211;&gt; Actions = Results</p>
<p>When we apply this principle to our lives, one gets the awareness that our consciousness of who our &#8217;self&#8217; IS, is truly what we manifest and attract to ourselves. Therefore, the process of knowing thyself and manifesting the life that we desire, springs forth from belief, rather than thought.</p>
<p>My invitation here, or  rather challenge to you, is to be aware of your foundational beliefs. What you Resist&#8230; Persists.</p>

<p>When you unlearn, change and shift old dis-empowering beliefs, followed by a replacement of a newer, empowering belief / awareness, you set in motion the waves of change, to allow you to receive results that you TRULY Desire.

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>When we talk about using the Law of Attraction to manifest our heart&#8217;s desires, sometimes things can get a little unclear, especially if we know what is the result or outcome that we want, but somehow can&#8217;t seem to find the connecting experience to feed our &#8216;Attraction&#8217;. The question here simply is &#8220;How do I attract what I want, if what I want, I&#8217;ve not experienced before?&#8221;</p>
<p>Take monetary results for example. If what a person wants to manifest is $1,000,000 but more than likely, have not experienced what it is like to have $1,000,000. How does that person then start to manifest that $1,000,000?</p>
<p>Here&#8217;s a theory. Since our bodies are trapped in Space and Time (Chronos/Linear Time) and our Mind/Spirit exists in Kairos Time (God&#8217;s time, aka The Omnipresent, Here and Now), what we think of (assuming we did not have a body) should immediately manifest into experience. However, because we DO have a body, in order for thought to manifest into experience, Chronos time needs to take place before thought becomes experience therefore becoming reality in the body.</p>
<p>So&#8230;&#8230; Here&#8217;s a theory on how to manifest thought into experience, the surefire method. Use Presuppositions in your manifestations. Imagine, if $1,000,000 in your bank account is what you desire, perhaps one could manifest the lifestyle that that million dollars presupposes. Eg, The travelling lifestyle, the freedom of personal time, enjoyment with the kids, the relaxed mind etc. With those presuppositions, it is like setting the bar at a different reality, that assumes that the reality of the $1,000,000 has already taken place. If one tries to manifest $1,000,000 in the bank account but does not have a belief that it is possible and doubts that the process. It is not going to happen anyway.</p>
<p>The point being, if you are in doubt of your own thoughts of attraction, find a higher thought that you are congruent with and manifest that. That way, you connect your experience (past and present) to feed your imagination to bring about a reality or experience you desire. Staying aware that there are no accidents in the universe.</p>
<p>To try this method in a &#8220;safer&#8221;, more achievable way, perhaps you could try manifesting a good night&#8217;s sleep tonight, that presupposes that today&#8217;s burden laden chores are complete. Have fun with it!

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>What’s it with this guy Joel Christopher? He’s known as the Master List Builder, he made his fortune through internet marketing, he networks with people of significant influence, has joint ventures with numerous “Big” names in the business, personal development, internet marketing industry (to name a few). And yet, there is something about this man that is beyond comprehension. What makes him tick? Why does he, in spite of all the wealth, fame and fortune that he’s accumulated, decide to spend time nurturing people to become successful entrepreneurs? Knowing that many of these students are “energy vampires”, simply waiting to plug in their fangs and suck his energy (and resources) dry. The ultimate question I’m trying to figure out here is… What’s it about this man that makes people resonate toward him?</p>
<p>When he arrived in Singapore, he appeared wearing Bermudas and T-Shirt. A warm welcome, a quick hug and we were off to his hotel to help him get settled into Singapore and prepared for our evening networking session. Details of the networking session you can get from <a href="http://www.martinleeaffiliatemarketing.com/joel-christopher-master-listbuilder" title="Martin's Post about Joel Christopher's Networking Night" target="_blank">Martin</a>, <a href="http://www.theultimatepublishing.com/blog/joel-christopher-live-in-singapore" title="Sam's Post about Joel Christopher's Networking Night" target="_blank">Sam</a> and <a href="http://emoneymarketing.com/internet-marketing/up-close-and-personal-with-joel-christopher/" title="Jag's Post about Joel Christopher's Networking Night" target="_blank">Jag</a>. The objective of my post is to share with you the things that others don’t get to know about Joel.</p>
<p>Through the journey, we chat about “stuff”, business and social, had a few gossips and a few good laughs. Later into the journey, I realized something strange about the man. He doesn’t flaunt his wealth, did not wear any ‘branded’ goods, doesn’t wear jewelry, doesn’t wear a watch and Oh My! Doesn’t carry his cell phone??? Not a Prima Donna kind of speaker? He flies economy class but when he’s with his family, he flies first class because he wants to give them the best? At this stage, the busy / kiasu Singaporean in me starts to wonder, is this how a successful business person carries himself? Cos the interpretation I have of successful people look like Donald Trump and Oprah Winfrey. So what then is this kind of successful person? Is it the kind that is reflected in “The Millionaire Next Door”? Let’s find out.</p>
<p><span id="more-71"></span>As a mentor and a teacher, he’s serious, precise and professional. He sticks to his word and delivers what he promises. In fact, he over-delivers and maintains an ‘open door’ policy where students are free to ask him questions whenever they need to. Many participants of his Funshop in Singapore gave testimony to how approachable he was and how they were “blown away” by the rich content that he provided. No hype, just real internet business building instructions in a “tell all” fashion. <em>Why doesn’t he wear a watch?</em></p>
<p>Interestingly, I found out that he didn’t wear a watch because the watch was a symbol of a bondage to time pressures. The wristwatch, although a great tool, has subconsciously made us slaves to time pressures and deadlines. Through the week, I realized that I was more uptight about time than he was, period. However, he still delivered what he wanted to deliver.</p>
<p>Another story about this time thingy is when we were late by 15 minutes to catch our bus back from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to Singapore. We were caught up in traffic and honestly, there really wasn’t anything we could do if the bus decided to leave without us. Along the way to the bus station, Joel was still laughing and chatting, while I got a tension headache from worrying about being late. In the end, we got there 10 minutes later but the bus was still there. In fact, there were 3 other passengers who were later than us. Did I worry in vain?</p>
<p>Since then, we have termed the wristwatch, “The Handcuff of Chronos”. You see my friend, I tried taking my watch off for 3 days as an experiment and guess what? I felt a lot lighter and liberated. Well I was late for about 10 to 15mins for appointments but Boy! Was I stress free! Maybe you should try it someday. Since then, I’ve stopped wearing my watch but appointments still get met and life still carries on… a little stress free of course.</p>
<p><em>Sharpening the Mind</em></p>
<p>Another thing I would like to share about Joel is that his mind has been fine tuned to stay focused in the moment. There is a time for business and a time for pleasure. On the way up from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur, we had a mastermind meeting and it had to be cut short because we had arrived in KL. We agreed to continue the meeting on our journey back. During our stay in KL, it was all fun and no talk about business and we had a ball of a time again, eating Lor Mee, Bak Kut Teh, Fried Wantons etc… etc… We could really eat! We even visited the Petronas Twin Towers and went to Genting Highlands.</p>
<p>On our journey back, I was expecting a mastermind meeting but Joel suggested that we took a nap first before our meeting. We agreed and then rested… Here’s the interesting part. It was one moment of reminiscing about the enjoyment in KL, next moment of “nap suggestion” and in 10 seconds… He was going… going… GONE to Slumberland! Shawn and myself were like thinking… what’s this…. So Fast? And not just that, he slept like a baby! Peaceful and Deep sleep! Shawn and I with our very active minds that usually suffer from insomnia couldn’t believe what we were seeing. This guy could switch between business and social mode in an instant. When he woke up and we finally continued with our mastermind meeting, it was focused and decisive, with concrete action plans that gave clarity and direction.</p>
<p><em>Conclusion</em></p>
<p>There is really something about Joel Christopher. There is a down-to-earth attitude with a certain kind of “peace of mind” that he has. There is also a kind of carefree-ness about him, able to live in the moment and enjoy life to its fullest. He’s free from the bondage of money, free from the bondage of materialism, free from the bondage of a time pressures and sleeps like a worry-free baby and I bet he knows the formula of how one can build oneself to achieve that kind of carefree lifestyle.</p>
<p>Over and above the formula, I know that he cares enough to help willing souls reach to their desired goals in life. Whatever it is about him, I’m sure glad he’s my mentor, guiding and nurturing me to achieve my heart’s desires and realize my true potential and destiny, becoming a person of value. He is truly one humble, nurturing Millionaire Next Door.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Thought I wanted to talk about this.</p>
<p>I was putting some thought into this question and came up with the following conclusion.</p>
<p>Since our subconscious mind is most active right before we wake up and also that is the time when we haven&#8217;t got caught up by the day yet, so I concluded that the best time is still <em><strong>just before we wake up</strong></em>&#8230; when we are still caught up in that thin line between the dream world and our physical world.</p>
<p>Why? Cos our subconscious has got many layers, from alpha to theta state and Carl Jung even suggested that at the deepest level of our subconscious is that level called the super-consciousness or collective consciousness. This is that consciousness that we ALL share with the universe.</p>
<p>Ralph Waldo Emerson said: &#8220;When one makes a decision, the Universe conspires to make it happen.&#8221; The subconscious, being the bridge to the super-conscious therefore &#8216;carries&#8217; our thoughts of manifestation into the super-conscious, by creating a &#8220;pinging&#8221; effect in the collective consciousness, aligning the universe in a perfection of &#8220;events&#8221; or &#8220;situations&#8221;, that is aligned to our original thought that was put forth as a decision or visualization or affirmation, by our conscious mind.</p>
<p>Therefore, perhaps the best time to practice the Law of Attraction is that time when we are &#8220;tuned in&#8221; in between our subconscious and conscious states. So that our conscious mind, without the clutter of the physical world we live in, sends a clear intent / decision to our subconscious, thereby channeling it to the super-consciousness aka the Universe.</p>
<p>The caution here is still&#8230;. be clear about your decision&#8230; cos if we keep changing our minds, those &#8220;pings&#8221; keep changing and a momentum doesn&#8217;t get built up due to shifting decisions. Remember, the Universe gives you what you ask for, all the time, springing forth our deepest expression of our &#8217;self&#8217;.</p>
<p>Hmmmm&#8230;&#8230; guess I just opened a can of worms here with that last statement cos there is something deeper that I gotta discuss too, called &#8216;The Sponsoring Thought&#8217;. Also known as &#8220;The thought behind the thought&#8221;. Cos if our sponsoring thought is not aligned to our conscious thought, it is tough to manifest our true desire. That sponsoring thought could be a belief or an emotion about ourselves, most of the time it is being implanted in our psyche from a very young age. And these things govern our daily  actions and feelings, influencing our daily creation or re-creation of ourselves. Guess I&#8217;ll have to talk about that another time. Your comments are welcomed.

<strong>What&#8217;s Happening to Singapore?</strong></p>
<p>Usually my posts are about positive things that help in self development. However, I just wanna take to time to rant about the burden I feel for Singapore and its people, my home country that I love so much. To take this opportunity to stir some social consciousness.</p>
<p>I just watched a video that moved me deeply and at the same time stirred a deep sense of despair towards my home country. Why is our country that is SOOOOOOOOO prosperous still having such people living in poverty? It pains me to see such old folks needing to work so hard to earn such meager wages! I know I explicitly appreciate those aunties and uncles who clean my table at the food courts and hawker centres, whom I think deserve a &#8220;Thank You&#8221; from every Singaporean, unfortunately I still don&#8217;t see such appreciation for them from many Singaporeans. </p>
<p>Anyway, why is there still no minimal wage guidelines? Is it a problem with the system? Even the price of public transport is going to increase for the 4th time in 5 years but has our wages increased 4 times in the last 5 years? With our nation&#8217;s leader saying in his national day message (ref: http://www.channelnewsasia.com/ndp07/message_english.htm)</p>
<p>My fellow Singaporeans,</p>
<p>We celebrate National Day in a happy mood. It has been another good year for Singapore. Altogether now, we have had four good years of growth.</p>
<p>We have many things to cheer about:</p>
<p>a. Our athletes are winning medals</p>
<p>b. Our chefs are winning culinary contests</p>
<p>c. Our entrepreneurs are launching new businesses</p>
<p>d. Our students are excelling at all kinds of international events – robotic championships, choir festivals, debates, creative problem solving contests, and mathematics and science Olympiads</p>
<p>e. We are gearing up for new and exciting projects, like the Formula One Grand Prix and the Integrated Resorts</p>
<p>Economic growth in the first half of this year was 7.6%, higher than we had expected. For the whole year, MTI has raised its growth forecast to between 7 and 8%. The good news is that we have added 111,000 jobs in the first half – the highest number ever. Unemployment is very low, at 2.4%. Workers are enjoying good wage increases and higher bonuses because businesses are doing well.</p>
<p>Singapore is growing not just because of more investments or more workers. Our people are adapting and working smarter. We are organising ourselves more efficiently, and making better use of our resources. In short, we have increased our productivity. Our efforts to transform our economy are paying off. The global economy is continuing to change. If we keep on adapting and readapting to it, we can keep growing strongly for many more years&#8230;&#8230;.</p>
<p>I just wanna ask again. What is happening to Singapore? If the country is soooooo developed and prosperous, why is there still poverty? Perhaps the world needs to know what poverty looks like in Singapore. </p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>It&#8217;s been 2 weeks since my last post and I promise to make this a good one. It is about Self-Esteem. Something that many people, including myself, struggle with. The basic question here being: &#8220;When does tolerance become unhealthy? When does a person say enough is enough?&#8221; Hope you find it useful.</p>
<p>Qn: Why do perfectly noble, normal, well-intentioned people get bullied? What gives?</p>
<p>These are people who go about their daily lives seeking to be good, to do good and to genuinely make a difference, to give value, earn an honest living, do no harm, be kind to animals kind of people&#8230;.. you get my drift.</p>
<p>Of course I can go about the Karma route and explain it in a Spiritual sense of cause and effect. I can even talk about it through a Law of Attraction sense. However, today I&#8217;m going to take a purely scientific, psychological approach to discuss this topic.</p>
<p>Is it really about family background and upbringing, as Freud suggests? Or is it a chain reaction of things that happen to a person, causing him / her to &#8220;absorb&#8221; more and more of the &#8220;S*#t&#8221; people dump, letting others trample upon them like a doormat, sometimes even to the point of imploding&#8230;. sometimes exploding? (metaphorically speaking of course). Ultimately, it causes a lot of harm to the individual, physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually. We can see an array of physical manifestation as a result. Stuff like broken relationships, eating disorders, irritable bowel syndrome, depression, mental disorders, eczema etc, all manifestations of &#8216;taking in&#8217; too much.</p>
<p>Let me give you an example. I have a friend who believes in reciprocity. Do good first and then good will come back in return. He has an unconditional positive regard towards others and genuinely looks for the good in other people. He has a forgiving nature and understands that people behave the way they do because they are heavy laden with their own baggage. But here&#8217;s what I observed, people take advantage of him and I&#8217;ve seen him being bullied in his workplace where he gets promised something and later the person who gave the promise does not fulfill it. In one of the portfolio his team was handling, I know that he&#8217;s doing most of the work but in the end, someone else takes over the credit and he does not even protest. I&#8217;ve even seen him get an oppressive tongue-lashing from a superior and he didn&#8217;t even stand up for himself. (BTW, I was a colleague of his). I saw him took this kind of treatment for 2 years and every time one of us colleagues asks him why is he allowing such people to take advantage of him, he usually has an excuse to justify their behaviour or he says that he contributed to the problem in the first place.</p>
<p>So one day, after I got trained as a counsellor, I sat down with him and had a counselling session and thankfully he was willing. What he revealed to me was not surprising. He was frustrated and angry with himself, even depressive, having irritable bowel syndrome, insomnia and eczema. However, he said he just couldn&#8217;t help himself. He knows that he&#8217;s feeling bad and miserable but cannot bring himself to stand up for himself. He&#8217;s got a believe system that says &#8220;Nice guys don&#8217;t get angry and I&#8217;m a nice guy&#8221;, &#8220;Harmony is maintained when no conflicts arise so don&#8217;t start conflicts.&#8221; There are also some disempowering spiritual beliefs of his that I can&#8217;t mention. Anyway, I was curious about where did he these acquire such belief systems and started asking him about his childhood and his relationship with his parents. To cut the story short, he was very much abused by his father (physically and emotionally) as a kid and was made to feel that when bad things happen, it is his fault and he was a lousy person if he cannot &#8220;do things right&#8221; (right being subjected to his father&#8217;s opinion). With that kind of low self-worth that was implanted within his psyche, he went on with life getting bullied even outside the home, in school and even socially. That was his pattern, getting bullied is normal!!??!!</p>
<p>Today, through many sessions of counselling therapy and motivational seminars, he has become more balanced a person. I still see certain times when he gets bullied and revert back to old patterns but I celebrate his progress. Compared to the man of the past, he&#8217;s much better now, able to assert himself when necessary.</p>
<p>Though I&#8217;m just using my friend as an example here, I know that many of you can empathise with his story as many of you have experienced such things in one way or another. Perhaps there is some programming that was implanted in you previously that cause you to be who you are today.</p>
<p>In my opinion, a low self-esteem is accumulated through the years, starting from childhood. There is always a point when a person is in the right time and situation to allow massive change to happen. Metaphorically speaking, that is the time when the &#8220;rubber band snaps&#8221;, when the person says: &#8220;I&#8217;m ready for change.&#8221; Certain questions help people get to this stage, questions like: &#8221; Should you continue this pattern, how is it going to affect you and your loved ones?&#8221;, &#8220;Are you tired of being bullied and treated like a doormat?&#8221;and &#8220;It must feel very painful to be in your position, doesn&#8217;t it?&#8221; If you find it difficult to pull through and come to a decision, know that usually for something to improve, a little tension and discomfort is necessary.</p>
<p>Should you be in such a situation, my encouragement to you is to first recognise that there is some kind of a pattern within you. Accept, forgive and know that such patterns can be changed. Know that with help, you can live life with confidence, assurance and a healthy self-esteem. Seek therapy when needed. Healing can happen in a heartbeat.</p>
<p>In my following posts, I&#8217;ll be talking about the 8 stages of life, the 8 kinds of love required during those 8 stages and what are the crucial things that need to be fulfilled at each stage, in order for you to be a whole person.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I think I was around 18 years old when I heard a sermon about words having power.</p>
<p>When I watched &#8220;The Secret&#8221; again just recently, this thought of &#8220;Words Have Power&#8221; kept repeating in my head and I started observing people again&#8230;. as usual. This time I really wanted to listen to the words that people choose and observe what kind of emotions they are feeling&#8230; of course, me being the analytical person that I am, I then try to deduce what kind of mind-frame that person is living in, manifesting what kind of life. The question that I ask myself through these observations are then&#8230; How powerful are words, in relation to manifested reality? What does it take for people to be aware this cause-effect and choose to change something as simple as their words&#8230; or is it really that simple?</p>
<p>There is an example that I would like to share today:</p>
<p>A man who is talking to a friend over coffee. His friend asked: &#8220;How has our day been?&#8221; and the answer was terrible! It went along the lines of &#8220;That STUPID client of mine&#8230; DAMN troublesome. Cannot make a simple decision&#8230; so KIASEE (aka cowardly)! Waste my time. No Balls! &#8230;.. He went on and on and I was feeling so irritated by the negative vibes, I changed table&#8230;.. but here&#8217;s the observation. In a short span of 15 mins, 3 other phone calls came in for this man and all of them were &#8220;bad&#8221;. One was about a deal that just got stolen by another agent, one was from an unhappy client asking for a refund and another one sounded like it was his wife on the other line and he was trying to shove her away by giving justifications that he was on a phone call. I saw this and I thought to myself: &#8220;I can&#8217;t imagine the kind of self talk that is happening in his mind on a daily basis. He must be suffering a great deal.&#8221; As for his friend, It seemed like he was being really nice to be a listening ear but I could see that he was feeling uneasy.  I wonder what is his relationship with his wife like? If only this man could realise that his words are causing him anguish and possibly attracting more negativity and unhappiness in his life.</p>
<p>I&#8217;ve got a friend who regularly uses the word &#8220;Sorry&#8221;, almost in every conversation and talks a lot about how his boss treating him like a doormat. Is that word &#8220;Sorry&#8221; feeding the insecurity?</p>
<p>Another friend keeps using the word &#8220;Stressed&#8221; and constantly falls sick. What&#8217;s the connection there?</p>
<p>I&#8217;ve got another friend who uses the word &#8220;Busy&#8221; all the time but doesn&#8217;t seem to be able to get her job done on time. Always asking for extension of deadline.</p>
<p>On a positive light, I also got a friend who always says he&#8217;s GREAT and he says it with gusto! He has probably one of the most loving couple relationships I&#8217;ve ever seen.</p>
<p>So, do you think words have power?</p>
<p>In my humble opinion, words HAVE power. They are like the constant seeds that are being sown daily, growing into the harvest that we&#8217;ll have to reap one day. It affects every part of a person&#8217;s life. Emotionally, Mentally, Spiritually and Physically. Words are the medium in which we send our thoughts out into the universe, attracting back the same vibrations that are sent. My encouragement to you is to constantly be aware of the words that you use, cos words come forth from your thoughts, interpretations and belief systems, which inevitably shape or reinforce who you are. It becomes a self expression of who you are, thereby shaping the &#8220;reality&#8221; that you live in. It is so simple and yet powerful.</p>
<p>Watch your words my friend, choose them wisely, make it a habit. They could shape and nurture, they could also destroy. Choose healthy words. My wish for you is for you to have a happy, fulfilling life, with wonderful relationships.</p>

<p>That is one of the fundamental laws of the universe. If we look at everything all around us, all of them started off first as a thought. From a non-physical point of view, it could then be concluded that our thoughts about things and events shape our reality of happiness, sadness, peace, joy&#8230; perhaps even love. So then if thoughts become reality, what happens when chronic thoughts are repeated over and over again? What happens to the reality of that person? Of course if the thoughts are positive, they produce positive results but what if they are negative?</p>
<p>For discussion purpose, lets talk about chronic thoughts of &#8220;Wanting&#8221;. Many times I hear people pray and all they pray about are things like: &#8220;God, please give me&#8230;&#8230;.&#8221;, &#8220;I don&#8217;t want &#8230;&#8230;&#8230; Please take this burden off me.&#8221; Prayers that springs from thoughts of wanting something, which if we look deeper, springs from thoughts of lack, limitation and separation from the source. With thoughts shaping reality, wouldn&#8217;t such thoughts just perpetuate the reality of wanting, yearning and longing? The reality of that person then becoming, &#8220;I&#8217;ve been asking and praying but I still don&#8217;t get it.&#8221; Why me? Poor me!</p>
<p>If what a person is seeking for is to achieve or have something, shouldn&#8217;t the thoughts then be thoughts of gratitude? Prayers that say: &#8220;Thank you for &#8230;&#8230;&#8230;..&#8221; and &#8220;I&#8217;m grateful for &#8230;&#8230;&#8230;..&#8221; kinds of prayers that is open to receiving instead of prayers and thoughts that keep producing the reality of wanting. The question that comes to mind here then is &#8220;Could it be that all that we are asking for has already been given to us but we are not yet open to receiving it?</p>
<p>So how to make the shift then? In my humble opinion, Perception is the key word here. If one perceives that one has no control aver the things that happen to them, then that becomes their reality. If one perceives that one could take responsibility of the things that are happening in one&#8217;s life and look at it as he/she has made conscious choices that led to this reality. Then perhaps&#8230;&#8230; a positive shift could happen, from victim-hood to victor-hood.</p>
<p>Ultimately, it surfaces one&#8217;s believe of a Source of  Providence or a Source of Lack and Limitation. I know I&#8217;m opening a can of worms here with this discussion. However, let&#8217;s keep the discussion going so that we all can learn&#8230;&#8230; with an open mind of course. Be aware of your chronic thoughts my friend.

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Many of us know about Goal Setting and how to go about doing it. There is the usual writing it down as though you have already achieved it, putting a date to it and even reading and re-reading it to feed your mind.</p>
<p>However, I&#8217;ve noticed that many still don&#8217;t get to their goals because of Procrastination. It is often easy to say &#8220;I&#8217;ll do it tomorrow&#8221; and go about our daily comfortable routine. I&#8217;ve also seen that some people come up with excuses like: &#8220;Geez. That was a busy day and I did a lot of THINGS.&#8221; However, when put under scrutiny, many of those &#8220;busy things&#8221; aren&#8217;t really necessary or progressive. Some would even justify that those &#8220;busy things&#8221; were necessary. Here&#8217;s what I saw on the Oprah show about The Secret. Lisa Nichols said something along the lines of &#8220;When you are ready and asking for a positive change, you gotta let go of the old stuff to receive the new!&#8221;</p>
<p>In the book <em>7 Habits of Highly Effective People</em>, Stephen Covey mentions that it is the things that are Important but Not Urgent that need to be done first.</p>
<p>Therefore, to overcome procrastination, I use a very simple question daily that gives me a kick-in-the-butt. It has worked for me and I hope it&#8217;ll work for you too. Done with a positive tone, it motivates a person to do what is really necessary.</p>
<p>The question is &#8220;Is what I&#8217;m doing now going to get me one step closer to my ___________?&#8221; In my case, I&#8217;m into internet marketing and my goal is to make my first million dollars by Dec 2008. My question then is &#8220;Is what I&#8217;m doing going to get me closer to my million dollars?&#8221; When the answer is No, I still have a choice but it sure makes me feel uneasy not doing the necessary. Hope this helps.</p>

		<title>Does making an effort to be Good mean to suppress the Bad?</title>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Many times in our lives, we remind ourselves to be &#8216;good&#8217;. To be noble, honourable, self controlled, positive, encouraging, nice etc. To strive to be even better, to be successful and to be the best that we can be.</p>
<p>However, one question comes to mind. Does being &#8216;good&#8217; means the absence of &#8216;bad&#8217;? Of course we can be subjective and say that &#8216;good&#8217; and &#8216;bad&#8217; are matters of opinions. For this discussion, let&#8217;s stick with the common believe that &#8216;good&#8217; means all things desirable and &#8216;bad&#8217; means all things undesirable.</p>
<p>I witnessed an example yesterday in the elevator that sparked this question. Here&#8217;s what happened.</p>
<p>Mother and daughter (young kid) were in the elevator and daughter was angry over her friends teasing her. She was venting her frustration but mom and another bystander were insisting that she shouldn&#8217;t be angry, that anger is a &#8216;bad&#8217; thing and it is &#8216;wrong&#8217; to feel angry. The more they said those things, the angrier the young lady got&#8230;&#8230; Me being the busybody that I am then gave some attention to her anger and asked her what happened? She proceeded to explain what happened, which seemed to be working to relieve her anger but too bad&#8230;&#8230; she couldn&#8217;t finish and had to leave.<span id="more-49"></span></p>
<p>Here&#8217;s the observation. I noticed the shock and disbelief in the mother&#8217;s eyes when I asked her daughter what happened.  Like as though it is a mortal sin to be giving attention to the anger. I think she has a belief that all negative emotions need to be suppressed, cos her last statement before she left the elevator was &#8220;You need to pray about this&#8221;&#8230;. I know there are still many unanswered &#8216;loose ends&#8217; to this story but here&#8217;s what I want to discuss today.</p>
<ul>
<li>When we work towards being &#8216;good&#8217;, should we then suppress the &#8216;bad&#8217;? (in this case, Anger)</li>
<li>If Anger and other emotions such as grief, fear, envy were &#8216;entities&#8217; living within us, would suppressing them really lead us to become better &#8216;good&#8217; people?</li>
<li>What would happen to a person when these emotions are suppressed for years or even decades?</li>
<li>How then should a person balance this duality within ourselves?</li>
</ul>
<p>I welcome your comments on these questions. Here&#8217;s what I think:</p>
<p>&#8216;Negative&#8217; emotions surface to give us feedback and they play a part in our personal growth. They tell us of lessons that we need to learn and parts of us that need to be embraced. In my opinion, suppressing such emotions is like poisoning ourselves bit by bit. It cuts away pieces of ourselves thereby causing dysfunction, suffering and deep unhappiness. I&#8217;ve also read that suppression of emotions can lead to cancer, illness and other physical / psychological ailments.</p>
<p>Shouldn&#8217;t we strive to become whole? To be inclusive of the positive and negative sides within us? To embrace a Whole self? So that we can be empowered to get used to these emotions, to acknowledge our true selves and exercise empowered choices?</p>
<p>&#8216;Good&#8217; and &#8216;Bad&#8217; in my opinion are parts of ourselves, Neither can exist without the other. The journey then is to seek a balance and be aware of when either opposites are being neglected, followed by exercising empowered choices. Keeping in mind that one of the Laws of the Universe is the Law of Cause and Effect. What one sows, one reaps.</p>

<p>Many of us who are into attracting wealth sometimes forget this too. That while we go about our day to day, doing our best to become financially independent, we focus too much on &#8220;Our efforts to generate our returns&#8221; rather than &#8220;Asking and then receiving&#8221;. Not to sound too religious about asking, there is a force in the universe that gets moving when we ask.</p>
<p>The next step (in my opinion) after asking, is to be open to receiving. Receive well my friend.</p>
<p><strong>Wealth File #10:</strong></p>
<p><em>Rich people are excellent receivers.<br />
Poor people are poor receivers.</em></p>
<p>If I had to nail down the number one reason most people do not reach their financial potential, it would be this: most people are poor &#8216;receivers&#8217;. They may or may not be good at giving, but they are definitely bad at receiving. And because they are bad at receiving, they don&#8217;t receive!</p>
<p><strong>The main reason people are challenged by receiving is that they feel unworthy or undeserving.</strong> This syndrome runs rampant through our society. I would guess that over 90 percent of individuals have feelings of not being good.</p>
<p>The reality is, if you think you&#8217;re worthy, you are. If you think you&#8217;re not worthy, you&#8217;re not. Either way, you will live into your story!</p>

<p>With noble intent, I truly believe that the world can change for the better and its people can evolve into more conscious beings. All it takes is a person to say, &#8220;Let the change begin with me.&#8221; Then perhaps someday&#8230; we could truly see&#8230; a world at peace.</p>
<p>It brings me great pleasure to share with you this video entitled &#8220;If Everyone Cared&#8221; by Nickelback. It has brought me hope and faith to carry one being a Social Change Agent and I hope it&#8217;ll also encourage you to become an agent to make this world&#8230; our world&#8230; a better place for everyone.</p>
<p>How? I can suggest one way for now. That is to dream a bigger dream for yourself. Give yourself permission to become truly free (financial and time). So that our minds can vibrate at a higher level, to think beyond mere survival. I believe when you avail yourself to a higher purpose, the universe takes care of necessity.</p>
