I got the following from Napoleon Hill, author of Think and Grow Rich. This message was taken off the Power Talk audio series by Anthony Robbins.

Somehow, in the midst of making money and attracting wealth, maybe we should also be thinking of how we can increase our capacity of accumulating wealth. Maybe this might sound a little deep but bear with me here. If a person hasn’t learnt to BE wealthy, even if he / she earns or makes a lot of money (a good example here would be lottery winners), it would still be spent and the person goes back to the original ‘broke’ self. This is what T Harv Eker in his book Secrets of the Millionaire Mind calls the financial thermostat.

So, while we are making money, perhaps it would be useful to also raise our financial thermostat, to be able to increase our capacity to hold wealth. Therefore, I would like to take this opportunity to present to you the 12 things that constitutes real riches.

  1. A positive mental attitude
  2. Sound physical health
  3. Harmony in human relationships
  4. Freedom from fear
  5. The hope of future achievement
  6. The capacity for applied faith
  7. Willingness to share one’s blessings with others
  8. To be engaged in the labour of love
  9. An open mind towards all subjects and all people
  10. Complete self discipline
  11. Wisdom in which to understand people
  12. Financial security

Notice that the positive mental attitude and the rest comes first and money being the last on the list. Guess money as an energy gets attracted to us when all-of-the-above is achieved. ;-)

Have Fun Y’all!

If you noticed, my nickname is OysTeR. Wondering why it is so? Please then, let me share with you this poem about The OysTeR. It very much describes a part of me and speaks of a mindset that I believe many should adopt. Enjoy!!!

The OysTeR

There once was an oyster, Whose story I tell,
Who found that some sand, Had got into his shell.

It was only a grain, but it gave him great pain.
For oysters have feelings, Although they’re so plain.

Now, did he berate, the harsh workings of fate
That had brought him, To such a deplorable state?

Did he curse at the government, Cry for election,
And claim that the sea should, Have given him protection?

‘No,’ he said to himself, As he lay on a shell,
Since I cannot remove it, I shall try to improve it.

Now the years have rolled around, As the years always do,
And he came to his ultimate, Destiny stew.

And the small grain of sand, That had bothered him so
Was a beautiful pearl, All richly aglow.

Now the tale has a moral, for isn’t it grand
What an oyster can do, With a morsel of sand?

What couldn’t we do, If we’d only begin
With some of the things, That get under our skin.
I hope you enjoyed that! Hope it gave you just the little bit more inspiration to Persevere on with that which you are striving to achieve. My Mission Statement: “Creating a Difference in the World, One Life At A Time.”

One of the articles that really inspired me about self belief, is this article called Powerful Beyond Measure. Sometimes I wonder…… When a person is faced with an opportunity to excel, and then backs off or retreats away before his full potential can be revealed (a.k.a Self Sabotage), is it because of the fear of failure (therefore attracting failure) or a fear of success (cannot see oneself as successful)?

To me, I interpret it as the fear of success, or that person’s inability to hold great fortune, great wealth or great success. There was a time that I was caught up in this pattern but when I started to give myself permission to become a millionaire, I realised that this fear of success disappears, replaced by a passion to make things happen.

Let me know what you think about Self Sabotage.

POWERFUL BEYOND MEASURE

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.”

Our deepest fear
Is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness
That most frightens us.
We ask ourselves, who am I?
To be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous?
Actually, who are you not to be?

You are a child of God.
Your playing small doesn’t save the world.
There is nothing enlightened about shrinking,
So that other people won’t feel insecure around you.

We were born to manifest the glory of God that is within us.
It’s not just in some of us;
It is in every one of us.
And as we let our light shine,
We unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear,
Our presence automatically liberates others.”
